Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WatchOnRepeat (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and application located at watchonrepeat.com (the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
a. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information. If you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive basic profile information (name, email address, profile picture) as authorized by you through Google’s sign-in process.
b. Content You Create
We store the data you generate while using the Service, including:
- Playlists and the video references (video IDs and platform) you add to them
- Timestamped notes you write
- Loop segments (start/end timestamps) you create
- Viewing history and favorites
- App settings and preferences (e.g., custom keyboard shortcuts)
We do not store video files, audio files, or thumbnail images. Videos are streamed directly from third-party platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, or other supported sources), and thumbnails are loaded directly from those platforms’ own servers.
c. Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. We do not collect or store your credit card number or full payment details — these are handled directly by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with its own privacy policy and security standards. We receive only subscription status information (e.g., active, cancelled, plan tier) needed to provide your account access.
d. Usage and Analytics Data
To improve our features and functionality, we log internal application usage and video watch history to our servers. If you are not logged in, we tie this data to an anonymous browser session ID. We also use third-party analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how the Service is used (e.g., pages visited, features used, device type). This data is used solely to improve the Service and is not used to identify you personally beyond what is necessary for basic analytics reporting.
e. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and gather analytics data as described above.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Sync your playlists, notes, and settings across your devices (Premium and Pro tiers)
- Process subscription payments and manage your account tier
- Communicate with you about your account, including support requests
- Understand usage patterns and improve the Service
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Lemon Squeezy (payment processing), and Google Analytics (usage analytics)
- With third-party video platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc.) to the extent necessary to load and play videos you choose to view — note that your interactions with embedded video players are also subject to those platforms’ own privacy policies
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of WatchOnRepeat, our users, or others
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, in which case we will notify you of any material change
4. Data Storage and Security
Your account data (playlists, notes, loop segments, history, and settings) is stored using Supabase, a third-party database and backend provider. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Free tier accounts may have limits on the amount of content stored (e.g., number of playlists, notes per video). Premium and Pro tier accounts receive expanded storage limits and cross-device cloud sync as described on our pricing page.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You can manage most of your account data directly within the Service, or contact us at the email below to make a request.
If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific data protection laws (such as the EU’s GDPR or similar provincial/national privacy legislation), you may have additional rights under those laws.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with and displays content from third-party platforms, including YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Google (Sign-In and Analytics), and Lemon Squeezy. Your use of these integrated services is also governed by their respective privacy policies and terms, which we encourage you to review:
- Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- YouTube Terms of Service: youtube.com/t/terms
- Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. International Users
WatchOnRepeat is operated from Ontario, Canada. If you access the Service from outside Canada, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
